Upcoming Exhibition: Common Thread - Female Perspectives from the Arctic

The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MoCNA) to host exhibition of contemporary works by Inuit and Sámi women artists, running February 16 – July 21, 2024.

The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MoCNA) announces an upcoming exhibition, Common Thread: Female Perspectives from the Arctic. This highly anticipated showcase will feature works by Indigenous women artists from the circumpolar North, offering visitors a unique glimpse into contemporary Arctic Indigenous art.

About the Upcoming Exhibition:

Common Thread brings together diverse artistic expressions from Indigenous women across the Arctic region. The exhibition explores themes of cultural continuity, environmental changes, gender, and the complexities of contemporary life in the North. A range of media including sculpture, painting, textiles, and digital art, all offer unique perspectives on Arctic Indigenous and women’s experiences.
