Artist-in-Residence June 2024 at Sámi Dáiddaguovddáš (SDG)

Sámi Dáiddaguovddáš (SDG) hosts artists Ulivia Uviluk (Olivia Lya Thomassie) and Laila Labba for a June 2024 residency, fostering cultural exchange between Nunavik and Sápmi. This collaboration unites art institutions from Canada and Sápmi, supported by grants from Montreal and Nordic cultural funds.

Sámi Dáiddaguovddáš (SDG), the Sami Center for Contemporary Art, is excited to announce the reopening of its Artist-in-Residence program, featuring two talented artists for June 2024. This residency brings together Ulivia Uviluk (Olivia Lya Thomassie) from Nunavik, Quebec, and Laila Labba from Karasjok, Sápmi, showcasing a rich blend of circumpolar Indigenous artistic practices and contemporary techniques.
