The second edition of the inaugural Sámi Triennála/Sápmi Triennale, a three-year art initiative (2024-2026), begins February 6 at the Sami Center for Contemporary Art. This momentous project connects cultural venues across Sápmi, including museums in Rovaniemi, Kiruna, Bodø, and Oulu. Twenty-eight Sámi artists will showcase works that bridge diverse traditional and contemporary expression, highlighting the vital role of Sámi art in cross-border cultural dialogue. The triennale brings together artists, researchers, and curators from across the globe, linking with European Capital of Culture programs in Bodø 2024 and Oulu 2026.
